It seems to me, that one reason that UC has trouble with the NCAA is that we
have not gotten the top recruits. There may be a reason that 2 6'10"
players are still available late in the recruiting period - namely, other
coaches have passed on recruiting them because they know there are
eligibility issues.

I was interested in Cronin's comments about not wasting time on recruits who
are unlikely to sign with him. I think Huggins was guilty of that,
recruiting players he was unlikely to get, and in the process missing on
players he could get, and ending up picking up scraps late in the recruiting
process. I also think the actions of a couple of players (Little, Grove,
and Satterfield) also contributed to him recruiting late in the process.

I was excited to see that Cronin had another verbal commitment for next
year. Though I don't see a lot to be excited about next season, I am very
excited that by getting next year's recruiting done now, he will be able to
spend this year recruiting the 08-09 class. I think it is that class where
he will be able to make significant progress.

Go Cats!

It cant be UC's fault over the years, since the administration is seemingly
new from the AD to the Team Managers over the last 12 Months.

Hey John Hall . . . Precedent = Herrera, is my guess.

What I keep hearing is anywhere from 5-10 games for each of our big men, but
I also heard similar things for Abdul last season, so whaddya gonna do.

Mick made mention this morning that Adam's case was in appeal which is a

didn't sound good either.

So while I believe that 90% of the blame for this and similar eligibility
situations falls on the inept NCAA, I also feel that the recent frequency
of
such situations @ UC suggests some bit of mishandling on UC's part. Is
someone not doing their homework here to make sure these kids are
eligible?

Very frustrating...
