Why not? Just having a body fill a roster spot does not make you a better team...

I don't think with how the roster is dwindling that we can be glad anyone is
gone....

Is Ron Allen going to start?

I saw him in several summer league games and well...I'm kind of glad he's
gone. Like I said when i posted about the summer games, I would be perfectly
happy for him to get in use his 5 fouls and get back to the bench. He is
probably the softest big man this side of Shawn Bradley, missed numerous
layups or put backs with a 5'6 guy tapping him. Looked lost out there 99% of
the time. Of course it hurts our depth but I think he would have made more
mental lapses costing us points when he was in there than providing any help
at all.

I'm not sure the guy would have helped us last year OR this year. From what
I've heard about him at practice it was not impressive. I certainly wasn't
expecting anything from him. I'm sure Mick was not either. That's why he
went out and recruited a bunch of big guys this year.

I heard he did not look good in the summer league either. Anyone see him
play in the summer league?

You hit the nail squarely on the head with the phrase "with effort".
Coaches don't want to waste time coaching effort. Effort should be a given.

Didn't coach Martin say he was going to be a great fit? Interesting. Where
is Martin coaching at now? Hopefully if it was effort the kid will decide to
play hard and end up at a good program.
Good luck to Abdul.
