The top 8 teams in the preseason Big East season looks pretty good. I am happy with the #13 ranking, as UC always seems to play best when they are underrated. No one knows what to expect from them, but I am pretty optimistic.

I don't see us finishing 13th (assuming Hall and Adam H are eligible). I don't know much about St. John's since we didn't play them in 05-06 and I am not too sure about Providence either. But i can't imagine that they will be too tough. Notre Dame has two 3-star and two 4-star freshman (per Scout), but lost their star player in Chris Quinn. WVU also lost a good group of players, but did get some decent recruits as well.

What separates UC from ND and West Virginia is that, while our players are all adjusting to Mick Cronin's system, most guys have 2 years of college hoops experience at the JuCo level, unlike the incoming freshmen at those schools.

We won't be great, but we have a lot of talent and could surprise some people. We are definitely deeper than last year, assuming all are eligible and healthy. Last year was such a fun season to watch, and this year will be as well. Just wait til next year when we have Mike Williams in there.

GO CATS!
