You don't establish tradition by changing logo's/mascots all the time.  I
don't think it has anything to due with class.

Some of the logo stuff has been beaten to death and I'm sure the new Bearcat
will be next but when I told my wife that they changed the Bearcat her
response was:

 

"Schools with class and tradition don't have to change their logo and mascot
every 5 years" 

 

I should point out that she is also a UC grad and I think her words carry
some truth.
