LL - Saying we only competed with C-USA teams back then and only compete
with Big East teams now is like saying 5/3rd only competes with US Bank for your
business. There are 10 other banks out there always competing for that one
prospect just as there has always been a plethora of schools competing for
recruits, regardless of what league you are in.

I don't know how someone can think that a first year coach with a Small
arena and limited nat TV coverage can compete with Syracuse, UCONN, Louisville,
et al. It doesn't make sense to say that we have an advantage... Before we had
the advantage of being at the top of our league, the mid to bottom of the
league will not get better recruits than the top of the CUSA... All the good
ones will choose a Big East team that offers more.
LL- True, when choosing a school many of these guys want to go to successful
programs but many more of these guys have a me-first attitude and what
matters the most is PLAYING TIME. If they can be a sub off the bench for
UConn/Syracuse or come in and get immediate minutes playing for UC is a very strong
factor. There is no comparison between trying to recruit to C-USA and Big
East, apples and oranges. A Big East school will ALWAYS have the advantage, even
the BE bottom feeders.

Also what "New 'physincilities' (I assume you mean facilities) Do we have
for Basketball? It's the same 13,000+ Multi purpose arena.
LL- Sorry, forgot to spell check. As others already replied, UC has
tremendous, brand new facilities. You need to take a tour if you don’t think so, I’m
sure Dr. Breiner would happily take you on one.

What's tiresome is blind optimism, I'm interested in a solution as well, but
blind, ignore the facts optimism will not get us to a solution
LL – Blind optimist, I don’t know that I’ve ever been called that before
but I am definitely an optimist. I have known the Cronin’s for a long time. I
played Bball in the early 80’s in Mick’s father’s high school program. A
harder working and experienced basketball coach would be hard to find and Mick
definitely followed in his dad’s footsteps. Mick has proven he can recruit,
wherever he has been. Opinionated yes, blind hardly. I guarantee to you (as Mr.
Ryan could also) that Mick and his staff have already put a ton of time into
some big time recruits for the future. They all can’t be Carmelo’s but UC
will get their share, you can take that to the bank (whichever one you choose).

Logan, Bearcat fan since mid 70’s, not as long as Mr. Gray, but pretty long.
