I didn't want to mention the name, But if you look at their TV schedule,
they have better coverage than us, those of you that said it had nothing to
do with Huggins, I just wanted to make that point, frankly I really hadn't
seen that school on TV before huggins went there.
"including a pair of regular season contests on ABC Sports "
"In addition, the Wildcats have been selected to appear twice on the ESPN
"Big Monday"
"In addition to the national telecasts, K-State will have nine regular
season games broadcast on ESPN Plus"
What scares me is that now cronin has to recruit to someplace that he can't
say "you will be seen regularly on national TV" which was a recruiting tool
used in the past. That couple with Richards comments on the future of our
recruiting (3 years from now) the shelf will be bare again... That does
scare me.
Again, this is the first year we will really feel the affect of the firing,
I'm afraid it's not going to be pretty.

Yes, it does, and it makes sense for more than just the "X" game -
They're building a sports bar right up the road from us in a brand new
shopping center - maybe they worked a deal with ESPN and they knew
they'd have a built in audience.

Geez, we finally have an off season where we aren't convulsed over gun
shots, dui's, or firings, etc., so I guess we have to have something
to bitch about. Look, if you were ESPN, or the BEast for that matter,
at this moment in time, why would you want to showcase UC?
In fact, they have 2
returning scholarship players, one of whom was a starter last year,
and the other doesn't really deserve a scholarship from a high level
Division 1 athletic standpoint. Otherwise you've got 11 assorted 1st
year mostly junior college players and some walk ons, and a first year
major college coach. This could be a dream season where the little
guy puts it all together and we wind up in the national championship
game - but from a neutral perspective it looks more like we finish
last or next to last in the toughest conference in the country. I can
live with a bad season, or even 2 (I've lived through a lot worse
supporting UC
basketball) but what really
scares the dickens out of me is looking at the roster and realizing
that 2 years from now we are right back in the same fix, with only 2
returning scholarship players who are on the current roster, 3 if Mike
Williams has an extra year. Worry more about that then whether this
year's game against UofL is on national tv. If Cronin doesn't have a
really successful recruiting year we are, indeed, up you know what
creek without a paddle.

From my perspective, national means that it is
