We certainly weren't talking about not being able to watch the Crosstown
Shootout on TV at all....

Destroyed???? I wouldn't quite say UC bball is "destroyed". I agree with
Keith....people have been complaining about it being quiet and there being
nothing to talk about. Based on previous years, that is a GREAT thing.
What was going on this time last year? Was that Bright with the gun,
Legree's second DUI. Sorry I can't remember what is what.

UC basketball is not destroyed. I will readily admit that this year
could be a down year when compared to the last 14 but I don't expect
it to be a complete disaster. I think Coach Cronin and his charges
will be able to play the "everybody thinks you stink" card to their
advantage and I expect this year's team to be surprisingly competitive.

Coach Cronin has not brought in a bunch of stiffs. There is some real
talent there. The challenge will be to get all of the newcomers to
come together and play as a team.

One very positive thing going into this season is that there have been
NO off the court distractions. I cannot remember the last time I was
able to state this.

The main reason UC isn't going to be on TV much is because of her
and to
a
lesser degree ESPN. Her (I'm not allowed to say her name) destroyed
the basketball program so ESPN knowing UC basketball wasn't going
to be
very
good put
them in the same boat as South Florida. UC and SF are the only two
Big East teams not to have one (nada) Big East conference game on
the main ESPN
or
ESPN
2 feeds. UC only has two Big East conference games on TV and they are
on
ESPNU. Time Warner has over 300 thousand customers and they aren't
going
to
raise the rates for 350 thousand people just so a few thousand fans
can watch 3 nights of UC basketball this year so you might as well
forget that. If
TW
did
pick up ESPNU you would only get 3 games. Another bad thing ESPN
isn't going to let Fox channel 19 have the game either. But not to
worry! KS and
the
XU
game are on ESPN 2 so you can watch that. Everybody gets that. As
usual on here no one wants to put the blame where it really
belongs. You can
fool
some of
the people all of the time but you know the rest of that one.
Don PS I
have ESPNU
