I think lumping Mike Thomas in with Zimpher is unfair, he had nothing to do
with the firing of Huggins and outside of the Andy Kennedy post game show
incident has done a pretty good job at UC, including the hiring of the guys who
he surrounds himself with. Give him a chance before you decide he is no good
at his job.

Huh? Come on Mick you said that, that didn't even cross my mind as I typed
that. I was asking/thinking a literal thought and of course I don't know the
answer because it never happened but it truly is worth thinking about if that
had ever transpired, thankfully it never did.

I support Coach Cronin and I feel he will win and do well at the helm, I
think 'most' can agree though it won't be the same regardless, as it will play
out in the next say four years. It will be very interesting to see if the
winning percentage over the regular season and any deep runs in the tourney
happen. Of course, we can't compare a 'what if' scenario because Bob never had the
chance but if people just use common sense (nothing else) we will be able to
tell if the choice was the right one by the <ahem-cough> administration,
this will be cool to see IMO what transpires between the two programs (UC-KSU) I
would feel confident if I were a betting man (which I am not) as to the
correct choice, but alas, it won't matter in four years. The results/facts will
speak for themselves and I hope that the men's hoops team profits from the
choices made by the admin.

I am looking forward to the upcoming gridiron and hoops season but sadly
will only watch on TV or listen in on radio.

***as for Thomas- what he did (as you stated not I) speaks volumes and you
are just kidding yourself if that doesn't show character. And for the sake of
discussion if that wasn't HIS decision but someone told him to pull the plug
I would take that it was someone in a superior position to him (or he'd tell
them to pound salt IMO) and if that is the case he is answering to them and
if he is after something like that......then again....it speaks volumes. If we
(the forum) knew just a quarter of went on 'really' behind the scenes I
think it'd be a safe bet that most (not the professors or diehards)<---which I
felt I was..... would feel a tad sick to their stomach or really think about
following something else.
