HOUSTON -- The Rockets finalized a three-year agreement with second-round
pick Steve Novak on Wednesday. Novak, a 6-foot-9 forward from Marquette, is
expected to improve the Rockets' perimeter shooting with his long range. He
finished his college career as Marquette's all-time leader in three-point baskets
made.
Holds Marquette career mark for three-point field goals made (354). Finished
10th all-time on school chart for career points (1,567) and became sixth
player in Marquette history to record 1,500 points and 500 rebounds.
Senior (2005-06): All-Big East First Team selection. Led Big East in
three-point field goal percentage (.467) and three-pointers per game (3.90), and
finished sixth in scoring (17.5 ppg). Set career highs in points (41) and
rebounds (16) vs. No. 2 Connecticut. Set Marquette record with 68 consecutive free
throws made, ending streak vs. Cincinnati. Named Great Alaska Shootout MVP
after recording 51 total points and tying the Shootout championship-game record
with six threes vs. South Carolina.
