I did not forget. He and Fortson (who had been charged with disorderly
conduct) were both acquitted at trial. Long argued that he did not punch
the horse (named Cody I believe) four times like the officer alleged,
rather he was merely "petting" the horse. Uh huh . . . right.

C'mon Tom - it was a joke. I have few qualms with the Huggins years, but
you have to admit, a couple players made bad decisions that, in hindsight,
are pretty good fodder for jokes and/or bearcat haters. (For example, an
incident involving a roommate, a chair and a coat hanger comes to mind.)
It IS possible, you know, to be a big UC fan and a big UC supporter while
not being blind to the fact that there have been at least a few "colorful"
characters on the team during the Huggins era. After all, loyal devotion
and realistic thinking are not mutually exclusive concepts when it comes to
sport affiliations.
