Get Over It.......

On the recruiting trail

2 items of interest to UC fans in Mike DeCoursey's blog:

Comparing prospects to established performers can be a convenient shorthand
for scouts and journalists. But the need to reach to the past to predict the
future can get fairly ridiculous, as was the case with all the comparisons
last year between Gonzaga star Adam Morrison and Bird.
Still, I'm telling you -- Anthony Randolph is like Chris Bosh's younger
twin. They are the same size, and both are lean, lefthanded and from Dallas.
Randolph has shooting range and a killer move from the midpost area on the
right side of the lane, where he leads into a turn with his right shoulder,
then launches a 12-foot lefty jumper.

A batch of big-time programs want Randolph for the one year he is likely to
spend in college, but Memphis and Cincinnati are leading the pack.

Give or take a pair of free sneakers, there were 950 teams combined in the
Reebok Big Time, the Adidas Super 64 and the Main Event Las Vegas
tournaments. And after the first two days of scheduled pool play, tracking
when and where prospects were playing became a scramble for college coaches.
Ah, but not like it used to be. Cincinnati had director of basketball
operations Matt Grady arrive at the office at 6 a.m. last Monday to check
the brackets on the Internet. He then compiled a schedule for the coaches
who were in Vegas. As the day progressed, he tracked tournament results and
updated the coaches on where they needed to be via their PDAs.

I think Bengalis season started...

Plus, I'm not sure how excited I am yet over a 2-3 star player. I'm hoping
Mick sees something no one else did. it sounds like he likes to play
defense and he is at least 6'2, not 5'10. Pretty good shooter.

I heard X got a commit from Dante Jackson. Pretty high quality player.
Don't' get me wrong, I'm glad to add depth especially a freshman. This guy
could be really good.

UC gets a commit for 2007 class and no one comments? I can only assume the
site is down.....so I guess this is kind of a test
