Brad, I did not take anything personally. I believe we are all within our rights to believe at what ever level is appropriate, and yet we can still all be fans. I have been a fan for a long time. I will ALWAYS be a Bearcat. The recruiting job I have seen has been very impressive and not expected quite so soon by me. As such I am much more excited now than I was early about the possibilities of this year's team. My expectations are lower than yours, but I truly hope you are the one who is correct. Regardless I will be cheering hard.
Richard, I always think the forum "was" better once, but that is mixed so much with so much nostalgia and can also be a bit cruel to new folks. Hard tellin' to what extent which of those matter. But definitely the Huggins firing has caused most all Bearcat discussion (here, hallways, etc.) to be worse than before. Too much divisiveness when it should be first and foremost about "Go Bearcats" and how the Bearcats might better Go Bearcats!
All, thanks for the support. Always nice to see and hear kind words.
Jon

It appears you all have known Jon for a long time, so ill have to take your word for it. I guess, the glass half empty attitude just gets me down...i actually wasnt in all that bad of a mood when i said anything about jon, just a little pet peave i guess. My apologies for judging anyone that i have no right to. Cheers.

I think what is really funny is that anybody who knows Jon or has spent any
time at all on this Forum feels the need to defend him in regard to whether
or not he is a UC "fan." More years ago then I care to remember I suggested
on the Forum that my experience on the Forum had led me to believe widening
the "membership" base was not necessarily beneficial to the quality level of
the discussions. A number of the "old timers" disagreed. I reiterated that
point when Aji left to go home to India and then again after the Bearcat
News triumvirate were good enough to take over, which is when it became
significantly more public. I still think I am (was) more right than wrong,
but I have noticed over the course of years many of the lesser lights have a
tendency to leave, or at least not post, when people either disregard what
they post, or explain their annoyance with silly comments. The dimmer bulbs
blink out when they don't get any electricity from other sources.
That said I suggest a new poll - how many of those who were involved with
the Forum within 2 years of its inception believe that the quality of
discussion is higher now, the same as back then, lower than back then?
While over the last decade we have added some really high quality
commentators, we've "lost" a number - but are we better off today then
back then, or not?

I think it's getting pretty funny when Breiner is called Not a fan..
So anyone that is realistic is NOT a fan
So far I've heard Breiner, Richard, Don and Myself all agree on keeping
things real.
I think it's getting time to start putting money on this :)

"It makes no sense to call yourself a fan. . . . "
I would most definitely call Jon Breiner a Bearcat fan.
