My 3 year old daughter about has a conniption fit each time she sees the Bearcat. She and I agree his name is Bearcat! :)

The bearcat's name is "Bearcat". At least that's what everyone calls
it. "Hey, Bearcat!"

Something I've always wondered is why the mascot
doesn't have a name...like Brutus (Buckeye), Freddy

always thought a naming campaign would be something of
interest to the university. Instead of saying, 'look,
there's the bearcat', kids and fans can say, 'look,
there's -fill in name here-'.

Any thoughts?

"Alice" used to come to UC games, but either she got
too freaked by the
crowds or got old and sick. But for some reason the
zoo stopped bringing
her.

By the way, somebody tell Andy LaCombe! He has been
calling for this kind
of forum for years!

I like the article linked to from bearcatnews
regarding the open forums on
the Bearcat image (score a few points for the
admin):
http://ucbearcats.cstv.com/genrel/060706aab.html

They want to try to reconcile the two Bearcat
images... the mascot and the
logo.

While our team wasn't named for it, how many folks
know there is an actual
animal that is called the Bearcat? It's from
Southeast Asia and is also
called the Binturang. Didn't the Cincinnati Zoo
used to have one (and do
they still have one)?

Here are some pictures I sound, the first one is a
really nice shot:

Looks like the logo is more like the "real"
Bearcat than the mascot is.
