1) Unless your one of the elites, you sign a very low percentage of the
recruits you pursue
2) They didn't start at the same point: Conn. and Louisville have major
programs with proven coaches.
I think this class reflects very good recruiting abilities given the
situation (late start, coaching change, etc.).
A few good wins will begin to level the playing field and give us a
realistic shot at the elite recruits. Patience is in order.

To me the inability to get Thabeet was a true litmus test for UC and
Mick
since everyone started from the same point with Thabeet. This wasn't a
recruit that was being pursued for years by UConn. How many years will
it
take before we will be winning recruiting battles with the big boys?
Hopefully Mick's strong recruiting abilities apply to the top recruiting
circles not just the mid-major ones (UC was in a mid-major conference
the
last time he was here).
