I have always believed that Jim Calhoun is a little dirty anyway. Who knows what he told/promised/gave Thabeet.

Nonetheless, this is a heck of a recruiting class: 7-3, 6-11, 6-9, 6-9, 6-8, 6-7.

What are our chances with Phil Jones and/or Hernol Hall?

My guess, he was told by UCONN coaches that he could start for a team that
is going to struggle for the next few years in the Big East, or he can start
on a team that has a legitimate shot at a national championship each of the
next two years. He decided to go with the "sure thing."

My thinking is that you just have to get used to this, for the time being at
least. When you are recruiting the same kids as UCONN, 'Cuse, 'Ville, etc,
you are going to lose a lot of them to those schools.

I just read it myself. I do not understand why a guy would verbal to a
school who has two recruits for 2006 that are 6-9. I thought playing time
was a concern? He would have started for the Bearcats, now he has to fight
for that at UCONN. Just don't get it!

Scout.com is reporting that he signed with UCONN today. Nuts, I
reallythought we had a chance at him. Guess UC still does not
have anything
approaching a quality big man for next year. (I'm including Abdul
H. since
he has played all of 0 minutes of college basketball up to this
point in his
career.)

Any word on if Thabeet is going to make a decision soon, and if
the longer
this drags out does that mean UC is falling out of the picture?
Plus, he
seem to be taking more visits, that also can't be good.
