  BOOK'EM DANO: The PawSox are 1-1 without radio broadcaster Dan Hoard in the booth the past two nights (one in Ottawa and the other in Syracuse). Dan, a former Syracuse broadcast legend, had hoped to make a triumphant return to the Syracuse area last night in his first season as PawSox radio broadcaster. However, Hoard, who was the radio voice of the Syracuse Chiefs from 1985-1995, left the PawSox in Ottawa late Tuesday afternoon to fly back to Boston to be with his wife Peg who had gone into labor. Dan made it to Beth Israel Hospital in Boston Tuesday night around 11:00 p.m. in plenty of time to help Peg deliver the couple's first child as Samuel Theodore Hoard was welcomed to the world at 9:55 a.m. on Wednesday morning (7 lb., 2 oz). Thus, the broadcast duties for the series in Syracuse have fallen on the voice of another Syracuse icon as Dan's partner Steve Hyder, currently in his third season with the PawSox after being the SkyChiefs voice from 1997-99, flies solo in
 the booth at Alliance Bank Stadium this week.
