Right after the Cronin appointment was announced the papers reported that
one of the things which most impressed Thomas was Cronin's creative thinking
(plan) on how to quickly resurrect the program.  It now appears, with the
hiring of an "associate head" coach with serious overseas connections, that
Mick may have suggested, especially in light of the paucity of quality
potential domestic recruits for this, and with the very late start, even
next, season, the quickest way to get back on track is with foreign
student/athletes.  This probably appealed to all members of the concerned
hiring administration - it will be interesting to see how the
"administration"  (read especially Mr. Ryan) of the Forum handles providing
up to date info on potential Bearcats from Zambia, Croatia, New Zealand,
Argentina, etc.  :-)
