I think Huggins' situation is much like that of Mike Price, the UTEP fb
coach. He had to go from Alabama to one of college fb's bottom-feeders
to find a job. I'm not suggesting that Huggins will have to go that low,
but though Huggins is clearly a fine coach, many universities will steer
clear of him due to what they perceive as his unsavory image. This
likely will keep him out of the picture for Rutgers & IU, which both are
quite snobbish. Missouri has had too much of its own image problems to
hire him. I have a friend in KC who reports rumors about Huggins &
Kansas State. My friend says the Kansas State has been squeaky clean &
might be willing to take a chance with Huggins. I suspect he'll have to
go to a really bad program in a big conference, e.g., USF, or to a
school in a mid-range conference, e.g., Marshall.

How long before the Bob Huggins to Rutgers rumors start? Oh, they just
did.
