RE: Latest ESPN Bracketology has UC in as #12 seed

On the UPSIDE!

It is hard to determine UC's tournament chance when looking at them in
isolation. In the ESPN Bracketology, there are four teams worse (in their
opinion who will make it (Alabama, Iowa St, Cal., and Arkansas). It may be
that there are a lot of bubble teams that are actually worse than UC and we
could get in even with a 7-9 conference record. Last year Maryland and
North Carolina State made it in with losing conference records.

If we can get wins against UL at home (we used to pull an upset against them
even in the Yates years!) and Providence and a road victory at Syracuse or
Seton Hall, I would think they get in.

One other possible victory, Eric Hicks playing his final came at the Shoe!
You have to believe he might just have one of those incredible, special,
we'll be talking about it 30 years from now games! UC upsets UWV.

Go Cats!

He said 19 would make them a bubble team. He said 20 would make it more
of a lock. FWIW, I disagree with him. 19 wins (18-12 discounting Ark-Mont
and figuring a 1st round Big East loss) will be enough IMO. There schedule
will be one of the ten toughest at the end of the season. I just am not
sure they can get to 19. I don't see how they can keep an 8-8 team from the
Big East out of the tourney.

Buford said on Homer he didn't think 19 would get them in (even if they
were to win four more games which I doubt) because the team they have now
without Kirkland would be 6-9. Plus he also said if Huggins were the coach
they might give them the benefit of the doubt but not with Kennedy. So first
they would have to win the 4 games and that still might not be enough. Don
