How is it possible Eric Hicks doesn't make the midseason Woonden awards list. I do not think for one second Hicks has a chance at winning this award. But to not put him on this list of the Top 30 is not right in my opinoin.
Hicks is leading the Big East in blocks, rebounds, and offensive rebounds. He's averaging 14.5 points, 9.5 rebounds, and 3.6 blocks all with little to ne help from the rest of his team. And at this pace there is a good chance he'll average a doube-double by seasons end and break Kenyons block record.
It's not like Hicks has another big man to take the double teams off him. It's not like Hicks has an incredible group of outside shooting teammates to draw the defense out of the paint for him. And his performances against the top teams so far has been stellar.
