Re: stop scheduling DAYTON and MIAMI ?

The Catholic basketball league has been rumored now for 20 years. It almost always comes from fans of schools on the outside (A-10) looking in.

I had not heard any rumors nationally about UD and XU joining the big
East. A couple years ago the local papers kept saying that UC, UD, and
XU might be joining the Big East. But at that same time all the
national media never mentioned UD and XU. So I basically disregarded
the local articles saying UD and XU might be headed to the Big East.

So was the recent 1 for 1 series with UD strictly a result of UC
leaving the Great Midwest?

Don't look for the Dayton series to be renewed. If it is I fully
expect it to be at least a 2 for 1 instead of the current home and
home (due to the Great Midwest breakup).

I enjoyed the Miami game if for nothing else to get retribution for
the football beatdown they put on us this year. They also are UC's
oldest rivalry, therefore I'd hate to see that game go away.

As far as Xavier, they are the biggest rivalry on the schedule. They
are also a good program that seems to continue to grow. Rumors keep
flying that UD and Xavier will join up with the basketball only
schools of the Big East in a few years (after a breakup from the
football schools), so I fully expect Xavier to become a big name team
around the country.

I would hate to see UC drop these games, but I think the Dayton series
is on its way out, unfortunately. I don't see Miami or Xavier going
anywhere any time soon.
