I came across this interesting read on offensive and defensive efficiency.

It is worth the time! Especially when you get to page 2 where the writer
identifies two teams with good efficiency, but flying under the radar - UC
and XU.
According to this metric, UC has the 7th most efficient offense. This leads
to the first hypothetical question:
1) Is Andy Kennedy a better offensive coach than Huggins? (From my
perspective, I have not seen any drastic changes. Matter of fact, I have
not seen much of the fast-paced offense which was talked about in the
pre-season. What I do see is better pg play than we have had in 4 years.)
The play of Devan Downey leads to the second question:
2) Would Devan Downey see as much playing time as he has if Huggins were the
coach? Huggins had a habit of playing seniors over newcomers. I remember
many on the forum being frustrated that he stuck with Taron Barker instead
of giving Chadd Moore more playing time when Moore was a freshmen.
I look forward to your responses.
One last note - the last time Wainwright brought a team to the Shoe
(UNC-Wilmington), UC was lucky to eek out a 10 point win, and we had a
pretty talented team that year - Satt, Logan, McElroy, Davis, Little, Grove,
Williams, Stokes - who went to the sweet 16.
Go Cats!
