Mike, not to change the subject but is there any word on UC's appeal for Abdul Herarra? I seen that the NCAA reduced Randolph Morris susp. down to 14 games.

". . . . reminded me of Barry Sanders"

I'll disagree and say the Lone Ranger. . . since Downey effectively rode his back all the way to the basket!! It was nice the way DD controlled the defender with his speed.

But that move where #1 was running down the court and Downey kept crossing over the dribble and fake left right such that he had no clue what to do and just stood there with his back to Downey who ended up popping a 3-footer over him...remember that? That reminded me of Barry Sanders!

Watch out for Tenn Tech.

Now I'm not saying that Chadd and Corie are single-handedly making this team a winner, but experience certainly doesn't hurt.

1. Kirkland BLOCKED at shot, and not by accident. You can actually predict when he will make a shot based on his release. Everyone gives him grief, but an intelligent player will see this on tape and will adjust... vis a vis the improvement in his shooting %.

2. We all know Downey can play offense and control the game, but all he has to do is learn how to take a charge. He's always the 1st one back on a fast break... forget the steal.. just take the charge. Knowing he's a freshman makes me excited b/c this is something a lot of seniors are just figuring out.

3. Allen is still my wild card and he's an ACE. He's a an all out heart player right now. He doesn't know the plays and gets lost on defense, but when he gets in there he plays with a lot of emotion... reminds me of Hicks as a Frosh and Soph.

4. Sneaky back door... is no longer killing us as much. Yes, OU had a couple of easy baskets on missed assignments in the 1st half, but this is 100X better than the Dayton Disaster. I'm almost considering the Dayton Disaster an epic point in this season where we were exposed beyond belief. Luckily, we'll get redemption.

5. FAN SUPPORT! Despite the obvious vacancies in the season-ticket holder section (as noticed by the cheerleaders cheering in the student seats now at breaks), the remaining fan-base was ROARING, and this team certainly feeds off of it more than any other team I've seen in the past. This is an emotional squad (who can blame them), and when the crowd gets on them, they play worse, and when the crowd goes nuts (like tonight) they play even better. Unfortunately, there were even more OU fans at this game than there were Dayton fans at that game, which is a considerable amount. You could really tell during that first half run the size of the OU contingency.

6. Cupcake Alley! Its great that we get to continue this momentum with a few easy games coming up. As mentioned above, this is an emotional team and with a couple of blowouts, they could really be fired up heading to Vegas.
