If oyu are saying UC is supported by gov't money more than private or self generated funds you are incorrect. 5 years ago (give or take a year) UC crossed a line where it became more self funding than gov't funded.These funds come from revenues (tuition, sports, patent) and donations.

I would say there's ZERO chance she gets fired over this, maybe 1% chance
she's forced to resign. To be honest, if either were to happen UC could
forget ever being taken seriously as an academic institution.
