Was that the sponsorship we heard about that was being pulled at the
beginning of this mess. I wish that a reporter or paper around town
would make a big deal out of this. I get Cincinnati info on page 9 of
the sports section right after OSU woman's crew....at least the OSU team
is not suing the school for a boathouse.

The original Schott donation was originally supposed to be $10 million.

The problem I see is that the contributions are not visually
down. From an out of towner looking in it seems that the large
donations - the ones that are seen in the public - are going up. Maybe
that is a false impression I have due to the Schott one being yesterday;
however, the news doesn't report your or my couple of thousand - they
report the 2 million.

I want the program to do well. I fall in the alumni trying to
give back department, but I also know that without athletic success even
the most dedicated alumni will either lose interest or support. I wish
I knew a way to do that and hopefully that is what the new AD will be
able to accomplish.

This is indeed a much discussed issue on this board so I will
keep my

comment brief.

Not that ANYTHING is going to move the presiden/BOT but I would
say

a half empty arena makes a big statement. Decreased
contributions

make a big statement.

The same "you should go to support the players" argument was
made

about the Bengals in the 90's. Not until the stadium was half
empty

did a change finally occur.

Again, I am not naive enough to think that we can "push" them.
I do believe

this though. If the seats are filled... there is much less
reason for them to

do ANYTHING different.

There is a link to the Post article on the
Bearcatnews.com page. There is also an Enquirer article. In a nutshell
he surmises that no one is hurting the administration and BOT and
everyone is hurting the players by not being there for games. Personally
I agree with him although I know not everyone on here shares my opinion.
