RE: Even Calipari wants fans to show up for Memphis game.

Calipari should be quiet....  I say this is the MAIN game to boycott!  the
bigger the more we should stay away.
 
First off... yes I do feel for the current players(heck I even tried to
create a way you could go to the games AND let Nancy know you're not
supporting her visions, RING OF BLACK games)... particularly the seniors..
BUT... They get to leave next year.  We as fans have to stick with this
mess... the short term collateral damage of a few (5) people... is fine with
me for the good of the university overall.
 
It think it's funny everyone is blaming the fans, and saying the fans are
hurting the kids... Screw them... the fans had nothing to do with creating
this mess.
 
What's really funny is that the argument is so contradictory.
 
I keep hearing that we are not hurting the university, that not attending
won't make a difference... BUT, the fact that we're not going keeps getting
in the paper and it's a big deal.  We keep hearing that the budget for
athletics is only 2.5%... Why do they care that we're not there?

I am 100% certain that the players know we are not against them.  They know
it's not them (although we could place alot of this at their feet... which
two were the ones that had 0.0% GPA and an incomplete that MONICA sited in
her letters?).
 
IF you decide to go and cheer on the team, make sure you aren't seen as a
zimpher supporter and wear BLACK...wear your UC Stuff, just pick out the
black stuff. or if   you need a black shirt to make a statement... look here

There is a link to the Post article on the Bearcatnews.com page. There is
also an Enquirer article. In a nutshell he surmises that no one is hurting
the administration and BOT and everyone is hurting the players by not being
there for games. Personally I agree with him although I know not everyone on
here shares my opinion.
