Re: So who won?

He was slow and whined a lot in the summer league, but maybe that was
because he was out of shape. He seemed to need an attitude adjustment, if he
has been dedicated enough to put on the muscle and has had to sit out, plus
spent some time around E Hicks, then maybe he is ready to contribute at
least the underclassman "Brannen" minutes.

He did seem to have a decent touch on his jumper, but it took him a LONG
time to get it off....

He could have helped against that center from Dayton. As much as I like
Hicks and am glad we have him, he cannot play center at 6'6", especially in
the Big East. Herrera has something you can't teach - size. Remember, he
is 6'10" and 255-60 lbs. He has to help by virtue of those numbers alone.

I have not seen Hererra play but from looking at him on the sidelines I
can clearly see he is much much bigger than anyone else we have on the team.
With his height and size alone I'd think he could help some in the middle
with rebounding, defense, and putbacks.

The rumor is yes, Herrera will be in the lineup at some point, because the
coaches have not given up on their appeals to the NCAA.

Kennedy and Martin are working hard for their guys, just like they always
have for the last many years.

I dont see Herrera being a strong presence this year, but at least his
development can be done properly and the team has five more fouls in the
post by letting him play.

Mike Ryan,
I didn't know if you or anyone else listened to the AK show at Rick's
last
night. I caught the end of a conversation, where he said how things will
change when he gets C.Moore and A.Herrara back in the lineup. Does that
mean Herrara has a chance of coming back this year, if this is the case
please let me know.

Nancy had her say on local media. Bob had his on National media.
Probably
neither interview changed anyone's mind. When asked for the reason why
he
was fired Huggins got the same reason we fans did. No reason. He said
after
16 years you would have thought they would have asked him to change
whatever
it was they wanted changed but they never. He also said he would have
liked
Goin to have informed him what was going down but Goin didn't and he had
to
find out from the media he was gone. I didn't think Huggins and Goin
were on
the same page toward the end and that verify's it. Nancy did bring up it
wasn't her alone that fired Huggins but the BOT was involved also. She
wants
to pass a little heat on to Jeff and Phil and we don't want to forget
those
two. I think the big losers in all this and the ones affected most are
the
UC basketball fans and we didn't do anything to cause all this. We are
innocent bystanders. I for one won't forget what happened. Don
