I agree with you Mike.

When leadership fails to admit mistakes and ignores critics, resentment 
builds.

e.g.  Bush administration (which I fully support).

Furthermore, if UC truly wants to deemphasize athletics then why accept a 
move up to a major conference in the Big East?

Zimpher was quoted previously as saying she "wanted a robust athletic 
department".  Thus far, her actions have weakened the athletic department 
rather than strengthened it.  Conference affiliation in itself does not give 
you strength.
