i agree with almost everything here. However, the "classless" statement about huggs is a disagreeable point. He has to look out for his best interest, why should he hold himself back from being a success next year, and do you really think he is costing us recruits????? i sure don't.

I don't think nancy is trying to do anything for OSU. Everything she does is for herself, we are just a stepping stone for her to move to a more prestigious university. She doesnt care about what happens here in the long run because she won't be around. i saw her on campus the other day, boy does she get dirty looks.

I have to get this off my chest. I know the flames will come in but I'm tired of hearing the same thing day after day. Let me first of all say something so you know how I stand. I was brought up to be a Bearcat fan. I attended games at the Armory, went to UC during the Catlett years, suffered through seasons at the Gardens where we could count the amount of fans in the seats, and reveled through the Huggins' years. I believe not renewing Huggins' contract was a mistake. I would have liked to watch how he handled coaching in the Big East. But I also understand that an owner, president, etc, has the right to move in a different direction if he or she believes that is the best for their organization. Again, I don't agree with this decision. However, here is a list of things I don't understand.

Rooting against the teams in hope that this hurts Nancy is ridiculous
Withholding financial support is an individual choice, but again you are hurting the athletic programs more than the university or president. In fact there have been cries for years to get rid of the football program, so maybe if enough money leaves the athletic department and it begins to show a lot of red ink, a path like this is may be investigated again.
UC asked Huggins to take a buy out after the season was over. Huggins refused and said that he would fulfill his contract. Class act by Huggs.
Before the season starts (after any possibility of hiring a new coach) Huggs through his agent reopens a discussion saying that he can't be effective unless he gets an extension. The "buyout" happens. To me the timing of the buyout has been blamed on the administration and I am not sure that is fair.
I'm not sure that anyone on this forum would believe anything Nancy says, and if any reasons were given for the change in leadership of the basketball department they would be shot down, justified or not!
The statement that UC Basketball can never be respectable again is very short sighted.
Huggins talking to recruits while still being paid by UC is classless. Depending on which article/report you read he was even caught in a lie.
Nancy's legacy when it comes to the athletic programs at UC will be based on how successful they are in the future. If they, especially basketball, are not successful she will always be known as the person who fired Huggins.
Hopefully the thread that the president of the university is making moves for the benefit of her Alma mater is tongue in cheek.
No matter how much we bitch and moan on this forum, no matter how many boycott the games, no matter what we do will not bring back Huggs.
What will you do if the basketball program becomes successful again?
Thanks for listening.

Harry
