Regardless of Andy's skills and experience, the reality is that AK did not
have the ability to select the best candidate for the job. 1) what legitimate
candidate would want the job given the uncertainty of the position (will the
coaching staff be in place next year?) 2) the timing was impossible to do a
legitimate search - too little time to do a full search and I imagine most
of the good associates have been in place for this season since mid summer.
(remember when Huggins hired Kennedy? It went on for several months and went
through several candidates).

The promotion of Andy was one of convenience - to make anything more out of
it (a poor or good decision on Kennedy's part) is a waste of time.

Given the circumstances, it illustrates that Kennedy is in a compromised
position. As I have heard AK say - it is, what it is

I must put in my 2 cents here also. Andy was always very helpful to me with
info I needed to write my former newsletter and the guy was always working.
He certainly deserved the promotion and his basketball IQ is much higher than
many guys I've known who were terrific players but not coaching material. The
previous rant from his former neighbor sounds like nothing but jealousy. All
these coaches stayed with concerns to their future employment not being
their first concern. Also another good coach with no playing experience anywhere,
Bobby Lutz @ UNCC.
