Regardless of Andy's skills and experience, the reality is that AK did not
have the ability to select the best candidate for the job. 1) what
legitimate candidate would want the job given the uncertainty of the
position (will the coaching staff be in place next year?) 2) the timing was
impossible to do a legitimate search - too little time to do a full search
and I imagine most of the good associates have been in place for this season
since mid summer. (remember when Huggins hired Kennedy? It went on for
several months and went through several candidates).

The promotion of Andy was one of convience - to make anything more out of it
(a poor or good decision on Kennedy's part) is a waste of time.

Given the circumstances, it illustrates that Kennedy is in a compromised
position. As I have heard AK say - it is, what it is.

I have to say something about this Midol induced rant we just heard, not
that it ultimately effects me, but his career stats according to UC's
official website as an high school coach seemed rather impressive. Its a
good thing the New Jersey Nets didnt hire Lawrence Frank because he never
played basketball either....oh wait, they did and he took them to the
finals. We all have to start somewhere. You take shots at the small school
he coached at. He coached against small schools too. Its not as if he
coached at St. X and coached against small schools. He played against equal
opponents and went undefeated. So thats a stupid argument quite frankly. Why
not take a risk on an unknown? It seemed to work last time uc did it with
some guy named Huggins. But regardless, I am glad you stalk Andy Assaley
outside his home and watch people pull in his driveway, I hope that works
out well for you. I figure if he was playing with guys like andre tate he
would've picked something up along the way. As for me, I will trust that the
last 10 years he spent coaching at one level or another is enough to teach
him and that AK is smart enough to recognize he's capable of the job that he
offered Assaley. You just seem really bitter about an assistant coach and
thats actually kind of a sad statement. In conclusion, your an idiot.

If it was up to me, I would have made you the honorary coach for this
season
on the basis that every single one of your posts have made me laugh! :)

They could have gave the job to Joe Blow
