On the other hand, the buckeye faithful were able to say NO to her mentor, Gordon Gee, who tried unsuccessfully to implement the same program she is accomplishing at UC......the emasculation of men's athletics.
Vanderbilt University Chancellor, Gordon Gee thinks the graduation rates for student-athletes and especially football players at the University of Tennessee are "criminal". "We will change college athletics fundamentally", Gee said. "Fans will hate it. Football coaches will hate it. But we've got to do it."

Living in the Columbus media market for the last ten years has taught me one thing: fans/alumni of tO$U believe it should be/have the supreme athletic program in Ohio. They have viewed UC as a threat in men's basketball for several years now and rightfully so. UC's men's basketball program has been unquestionably superior over the last decade. Now that Zimpher, an alum of tO$U, has set into action her plan to dethrone UC from its position, tO$U mysteriously agrees to play UC. This also happens to coincide with tO$U landing one of the most heralded recruting classes in recent years, who will be freshmen in the 2006-07 season. The stars really have aligned perfectly for this. This is a lose-lose situation for UC and a win-win for tO$U. Who do you think Zimpher will cheer for in the game? Keep that in mind for a poll idea in December of 2006.

So now we are back to the reality of the conspiracy theory that the Evil One was put here to destroy UC athletics and to prove once and for all the supremacy of tOSU in any and all athletic endeavors within the state of Ohio. Is it not just that much more plausible that, along with her systematic dismantling of UC's most revered graduate and undergraduate programs, that the Evil One was charged with eviscerating UC athletics? Has she not done so? Has she not had the support and undying loyalty of many tOSU and X grads, amongst others? Somewhere within UC's BOT and the state of Ohio's Board of Regents this grand scheme was long planned and thought out, just waiting for the perfect being to implement it. Hence, the hiring of the Evil One.
