I'm not sure if we would have gotten both Ivan and Darrell. I'd have to look
at some old notes, but I think we went after Ivan when we realized that
Darrell was not a "done deal". I could be wrong.
The pt and reb numbers listed will not necessarily translate to the regular
season. (But you probably already knew that)
Torre is better than BJ.
Dunking = two points. Its emotional value is more of a factor than its
point value.
*"It really hurt to lose Banks and Evans. . . .Roy"*. Thats for sure. These
three would have held down the two and/or three spots for years to come.
I think there is a 99% chance that OJ and Bill would have been here in two
years, if Huggins would have been here as well. I now think there is a 98%
chance that Mayo and Walker follow Huggins to his next school.

I thought it would be interesting to see how some of our past recruits are
doing at their new schools (Specifically our Spring Recruits). Here is what
I found...
*IVAN JOHNSON*-20 PTS, 7 REB, 1 BLK, 1 DUNK, 1 3-PT FG (Oregon intrasquad
scrimmage)
*TORRE JOHNSON*-15 PTS, 6 REB (Okla St. intrasquad scrimmage)
*DARREL HARRIS*-12 PTS, 7 REB, 1 BLK (Rhode Island exhibition game against
small school)
It would have been great to have Ivan and Darrel (since Darrel is 6'10").
It would have been great to land BJ Walker (6'9" JUCO who went to HS at Mt.
Healthy, now at Nebraska). I think Ronald Allen could be as good as Darrel
Harris though (from Cuyahoga CC). I think Ronald could be pretty good, and
his past problems deal with ineligibility (at CS-Fullerton) and injury (last
year at NAIA). He is athletic from what I saw at first practice, and if the
team runs and guns, he should be able to dunk a few.

Scrolling over the past recruits page, it was interesting to note that we
did not have a lot of solid recruits at key positions we needed. We had
hardly any decent PF or C recruits (other than Ivan and Adbul). That makes
me believe we were really going for and going to get OJ and Walker. Bring in
2 superstars, have a solid team of role players around them in Coleman,
Tilford, Evans, etc.
It really hurt to loose Banks and Evans (our shooters), Roy (our future SF
and solid player), and Ivan (Max's replacement). I think we hit the money
with Downey though. We will be a perfect compliment to James, Armein, and
Hicks. Chadd always did better when we ran also. He is great at pushing the
ball and finishing his layups high off the glass. He is definately not a
half court PG (can't shoot either), so I think he will do better with AK.

That's all for now.
