The difference is with those teams (2000 and 2003) there was a lot more
help. With Whaley not panning out we still had Max and Hicks (and
Kareem). Without Kenyon we still had Tate, Fletcher, and Little. This
year it's just 6'4" Hicks inside playing in a much much better
conference.
I'm not giving up the season but I think it just took a major hit.
Hope I'm wrong.

No UC team has ever been all about one player. Even the Kenyon year of
2000, it was said many times that if Kenyon broke his leg 'a month
earlier,'
the team would have had plenty of time to adjust. (Not that I'm wishing
broken legs on anyone, at anytime !)
With Ivan gone 'officially', there is time to prepare.

WhaleyJohnson
was highly touted out of JC but didn't pan out who's to say that
would have. I don't think that him not being here is the only thingthat
make or break our season. Your going to give up on the seasonalready
because 1 Juco isn't showing? I still have faith in the seniorsworking
their tails off to prove to the NBA scouts that they belong. I mightbe
dreaming but as of now it's quite a nice one. I reserve the right tobe
disappointed at a later time, but as of now I still have faith!

Heck put Kirkland at center and just leave him out there. He can't do
else or doesn't try hard so just leave him out there under thebasket

That just about kills the season. Kirkland will end up playing PF
