I wasn't napping. My point was that the make-up of the search committee was "normal" at public division I universities and not in itself a cause for alarm.
Those who want to be pessimists can do so; I choose to be an optimist. I have no inside source or influence with regard to what the President will do, but I seriously doubt that she's trying to kill athletics at UC. Do I agree with her approach to getting rid of Coach Huggins? No. But as I believe I've said before, I do know she hired two pretty successful coaches at UWM - Bo Rhein and Bruce Pearl - and I don't know any reason why she would want to hire an unsuccessful coach at UC.
With regard to Goin's role in hiring a new AD, I've heard from a UCAT that Goin has been involved in several meetings to define what a new AD should be. And I hear that they've also called on Mike Tranghese for input, too.

Bearheel,
Wake up!! What does Z have to do before you realize that this woman is an ego-freak who knows NOTHING about the realities of fielding a competitive Division 1 athletic program?????? I really believe she is delusional and has surrounded herself with people who only agree completely with what she says and does.
Isn't it amazing the your "everything is going to be all right" post of yesterday has already been proven wrong by today's article. Goin is quitting early BECAUSE of Z's handling of the Huggins situation. He will have nothing to do with either the AD search, the new AD's transition, or the new b-ball coach search. Sources at the University indicate that any dissent to Z's agenda from any corner is quickly dealt w/ through brutal termination or demotion tactics.....people in power are running scared from her.
If you have influence...I'd urge you to use it. Otherwise, sit back and watch as Z nails the final 2 of 3 nails in to the Athletic Department coffin. The first was Huggs and the next 2 will be the AD and B-ball coach replacements. She never again wants to have anyone or anything on campus rival, threaten, or divert the focus on her self as Supreme Visionary Leader.
