Thought you might enjoy this email from a friend in Hartford who is a
UConn season ticketholder.

Gentlemen,

Out here naturally it is front page material. The governor of Ohio only
makes the second page. Unfortunately Bill is right, but that won't stop
the hand-wringing and rationalizing. The breach of trust should be
enough to get rid of them, but what about the stupidity? You're the
starting point guard on the nationally-ranked team that is watched by
everybody in the state (except my spouse) and you bring laptops your
buddy stole into a local pawn shop where you are immediately recognized
by the clerk and photographed by the surveillance camera, then you
refuse to pay for the gas of the girl who drove you around trying to
sell the things and she gets mad and kicks you out of the car and later
tells the cops, and then you get into a shouting match with one of the
victims and tell her you didn't take them, it was your friend. THEN,
your teammate, understudy and accomplice sends text messages about
trying to get rid of the laptops as he's riding back from Boston where
he is being treated for a life-threatening neurological disorder that
kept him from playing all last season. What, as they say, 's up with
that?

Somebody said that Marvin Barnes once held up a liquor store with a ski
mask over his face but wearing his letter jacket with his name and
number. I don't remember that one.
