The Image

The powers that be at the University of Cincinnati got tired of everybody
across the country thinking UC was just a university with a bunch of basketball
thugs. So academics was to be put in the spotlight. As long as Bob Huggins
was coach they figured there was no way they could do this so pressure was put
on not to renew his contract and they would be rid of him and his bad image.
Only problem Bob didn't quietly go away. He told them to shove it! Now they
have a mess with the UC president getting booed and the university's image
getting worse instead of better. What can they do now? People with any sense on
both sides know you can't let this go on for two more years. They are in one
bad spot. They can't all of a sudden fire Huggins to end this and they can't
all of a sudden extend his contract either. This business about letting the
new AD decide the contracts of the coaches is a snow job. If the AD they have
now can't decide the contracts but the president did why is the new AD going
to be any different? How are they going to get out of this? Will they all of
a sudden become smart and come up with a brilliant solution. You wouldn't see
any of my money on a bet like that. I'd say it's 60- 40 right now Huggins
stays. They just have to find a way without losing face. Recruiting has been
shafted in the meanwhile. Get this over with! Don
