The Big East Conference

When the Big East Conference is mentioned anywhere is the first thing you  
think of, university presidents and academics? Of course not! You think of  
basketball teams, football teams, basketball coaches, football coaches, the NCAA  
the bowl games and all that because that's what it is. These university  
presidents and ADs etc. can blow all the smoke they want but they are just along  
for the ride. Its the fans of the teams and the money it brings in that floats  
the boat. You ask a hundred thousand people who the President of Syracuse  
University is and you might not find a single one who knows. On the other hand  
thousands know who the basketball coach is. Does a university president have  
anything to do with creating a basketball fan or football fan? They would like 
 to make you think so. After all they think sports fans are dopes.  Don
