In my opinion Mr Cox is on opposite sides from other prominent African
Americans in his thoughts on who should attend UC. Oscar Robinson and others have
always been opposed to new rules that make it more difficult for African
American kids from poor backgrounds to go to college and have a chance to better
themselves. UC by scholarships has given that chance to many and there is a
long list out there of successful people who weren't all that prepared to go
to college but UC gave them a chance and they made the most of it. Sure there
were some that didn't make it but way more did than didn't. Mr Cox doesn't
want the poor under educated kid from a bad background to have a chance to go
to UC anymore. He only wants the best and the brightest. Sometimes people who
have struggled and worked hard all their life and have got to the top don't
want to revisit their past. They just want to mingle with other top people and
forget about the ones who are still struggling and working hard to have
something. Is Mr Cox one of these? Don
