It's not a donation based on who is the coach of a team. The UCATS fee
pays for student athletes tuition. Trust in the fact that before I
renewed I asked all of these questions, and this is what I was told.

Are you sure about this? Part of this "Donation" is not a donation
otherwise it would be 100% deductible. But aren't you entering into an
implied contract of some sort due to who is coaching the teams and if
they change their product, I would think that you might have legal
recourse for getting money back from them.
How about if I sent in my money with a note that if they change the
basketball coach, I will consider the deal null and void and want my
money back ;-)
I tell you, the perfect event for all of this is for one of two people
to come down with a DUI (Cox, or Zimpher) - that would be justice to see
how they handled the situation. "Please pass the corw, please..."

If you have it set for payment in installments, yes you can "cut off"
payments; but once they have it, they don't give it back.
