MONROE, La. -- Louisiana-Monroe has narrowed its search for a new men's basketball coach to three finalists, athletic director Bobby Staub said Monday.

Scott Edgar, an assistant coach at Alabama-Birmingham; Orlando Early, an assistant at Alabama; and Andy Kennedy, the associate head coach at Cincinnati, will all interview again this week, Staub said.

Edgar, who will interview on Tuesday, recently completed his third season as an assistant with the Blazers. During those three seasons, UAB has advanced to the NCAA Tournament twice _ 2005, second round; 2004, round of 16 _ and a NIT quarterfinal appearance in 2003.

Early, who'll interview on Wednesday, just completed his fourth season as an assistant with the Crimson Tide. During the four seasons, Alabama has advanced to the NCAA Tournament all four years and won the 2002 SEC regular season championship.

Kennedy, who will interview on Thursday, joined the Cincinnati staff as assistant coach and recruiting coordinator in 2001 and was promoted to associate head coach last year.
