Coach Bettis and I didn't talk any other details. Late June is the
usual startup time.
I don't believe any current NBA players are allowed to play since the
league is not sanctioned by the NBA and hasn't ever been. (I'm
testing my memory here but...) I believe when Corie and Nick came back
and played in the summer after their rookie year the rule either
didn't exist or they weren't "busted".
Individual players decide to play, or not play, all the way up to the
last minute. Veteran SL attendees know that permanent rosters aren't
completed until a week or two into the 'season' and even then never
seem to be final. Its the nature of the league.
The Slats Window Shade company always have the most Bearcat players on
their squad. Usually two returning players and all the recruits.

Mike,
Does the league have all the necessary paperwork to allow the new recruits
and the college guys to play this year unlike last year. Also, any
confirmation of NBA'ers playing in the league (it goes w/o saying I'd love
to see any of the former Cats, also wouldn't be opposed to seeing
Chalmers/Sato/Posey as well.)

I spoke to Coach Bettis on Saturday and he said, yes, they are ready
to go. One change from last year tho is that all the games will be at
Woodward HS on Reading Rd.
Woodward is going thru some major growing pains and there is lots of
construction on their campus. Also, the gym is smaller than the old
Purcell gym they used to play in and has no air conditioning.
Should be a great combination ! (Ha !)
The good news is that the following summer the games will again be at
Woodward, but in their brand new gym.

I know it is early but does anyone know if the summer league will be
going this summer. I sure enjoyed watching them play.
