RE: Can't wait for the BEAST

No bubble busting here - if you look at the rpi's of those bottom feeders
(see below) - I think there is a big difference. Further, given the number
of quality teams in the new BEAST - there won't be as many late season
breathers. Depending on the scheduling gods - there may be no late season
breathers (which can also happen in CUSA - St. Louis' last five games were
at UL, UAB, at DePaul, Memphis, at Marquette - I think this was the most
difficult of the CUSA schools. You can compare it to the toughest seven!
games of the BEAST - Pittsburgh had to close with ND, at Syracuse, at
Villanova, WV, UConn, at BC, at ND. BTW that is about as many top 50 rpi
schools as UC faces in conference for the whole year!)

Looking at this year - I will take the BEAST's 8 possible NCAA teams vs.
CUSA 4-5 possible NCAA teams (3 or 4 who are going with us!)

Looking at the RPIs of the bottom feeders - I still think Seton Hall, St.
John's, Providence and Rutgers are much tougher games than East Carolina,
Tulane, Southern Miss, and St. Louis - So. Fla is a wash since they come
with us.

Georgetown, ND, and WV might be just ok - but they are bubble teams and
better than 10 of the 14 teams in CUSA!

BEAST
Seton Hall 152
St. John's 181
Providence 111
Rutgers 179

South Florida 230
Saint Louis 214
East Carolina 197
Tulane 276
Southern Miss 277

I hate to burst your bubble but...is there a big difference (late season
breathers) between TCU, Tulane, S. Miss, and S.Fla and the BEAST's Rutgers,
Seton Hall, St. John's, Providence and S. Fla ? You are a victim of CBS'
and
ESPN's TV promotions (i.e. Big Monday). I have been living right in the
middle
of the Big East since it's inception and, yes, there are some really good
teams, but, as in C-USA and every other conference, there are the bottom
feeders, too.

UC, UL, DePaul and Marquette will only add to the top echelon. Georgetown
(Ewing and AI haven't been there for years) and WVU are just OK, as is
America's and NBC's team ND.

UC can play with Syracuse, Villanova, and Pitt. UConn has lots of height
but few shooters. BC would have really tough time with UC's defense and
they'll
be gone next year anyway.

The myth that all BEAST teams have three 7 foot centers is not true.
