RE: Why not try a new point guard?

I really like that this team plays hard. Give me a team that plays hard
and losses over a team with all the talent in the world but doesn't try
hard and wins any day. I just think they could win these games if they
had better point play. No excuse for Kirkland to miss 5 free throws but
he can make tough shots. Here is what I would do to change this team:

1.) Put White at the Point. Ask him to shoot more and rebound the missed
three pointers by other teams.
2.) Ask Kirkland to shoot more. When he shoots more he makes more. Tell
him to keep rebounding the ball.
3.) Ask Max to stop shooting so much. When he misses we have no one to
grab his bricked shots. In big games he shoots badly.
4.) Tell Hicks to keep doing what he is doing.
5.) Play zone more often.
6.) Put 4 guys on the line to rebound the missed free throws and one guy
back on defense.
7.) Practice free throws all day today. If you can't make 20 in a row you
don't leave practice tonight.

I agree with the fact that we should try others, but who? Kirk is taking
crazy shots and White needs to be able to free lance it seems. I take my
boy
to basketball training at south plainfield NJ, and it seems as if Jihad
was
outta control all his playing days. If Huggins sat hard on erick martin,
Baker etc., why not on Jihad? I must admit we have needed his 3's. Is Nick
Williams a possibility?

I also want to ask when was the last big game UC won on national tv
outside
of the conference championship? Marquette?

Another comment since I don't post often. I really like the way roy bright
is rebounding most of the time. I see him as a quality player down the
line.
I am looking forward to the cats coming here to seton hall and rutgers as
I
will be a one man cheering section.

I won't rip Jihad. He is what he is right now and Chadd seems to not be
able to play the minutes so why not try James or Kirk at the point again.
I actually don't think they were are all that bad at doing that last
year.
I think with Kirkland starting to rebound the ball that he should play
more. He is really trying. If you have White at the point, N. Williams
at SG, Kirkland at SF, Hicks and Maxiell. You could even do White,
Kirkland, Bright, Hicks and Maxiell at times. It should help our
decision making, our shooting percentage, defense and rebounding. The
only time it will be a real problem is when we have to play a point like
Dee Brown. Then again its not like Chadd or Jihad will stop them
anyways.
Let them get their points while not hurting our offense. Just a
thought.
