Banks-pay his own way ?????

The enquirer says he would have to pay his own way if he stays.
 
Why ?  
 
Granted, his LOI may not longer be binding, but isnt his scholarship ? At least through the rest of the year ??
 
I dont see why he couldnt stay on scholarship and then have 3 more years to get his degree and earn back an extra year of eligibility.
 
Sure, he could leave and go juco, but couldnt huggs keep him on scholaship if he wanted ?
 
I cant imagine them throwing the kid out on the streets in the middle of the school year and saying "good luck".
 
Yes, he COULD be recruited all over again, but he has already said he wants to be a bearcat.
