Jihad has a lot of potential and would be best served to look for the assist first and score second (standard PG role). Also, D-1A is not an AND-1 Streetball audition. Possess the ball, make good decisions.

I did not track Jihad's shooting, but I would guess more than half of his
shots were poor. It would be telling to review the game and track how many
of his shots were good or poor shot selection and more importantly how many
were taken early in the shot clock without a single pass!

The other thing I find frustrating about Jihad is when he does penetrate it
seems to me to be at poor angles so that he does not create passing
opportunities and his teammates do not where to move. And it should be
noted that when he penetrates he is looking to score first (which he is
rarely ever able to finish given his size and strength) rather than breaking
down the defense and passing to an open teammate.

I'm not at the I support Jihad, I'm more at wait and see, but leaning toward
frustration because his leadership is really going to hurt this team. I
can't imagine being Hicks - working my ass off for 35 seconds playing
defense, hustling down court only to have Jihad throw up a lousy shot early
in the shot clock. If the rumors are true - Danny Fortson would have
bloodied Jihad's nose by now.

Go Cats!

Maybe that's backing off for him! :) I thought he was more under control
even with the pressure. It looked to me like he didn't take as many bad
shots as some of the other players on the team. He just couldn't make any
of them. I agree that he should share the ball more, a difficult thing to
do on Friday. I still think he will be pretty good when all is said and
done. I guess I'm in the "I support Bobby Brannen" mode here. I support
JH!

he already has backed off on his shooting.

Um, Jihad took more shots than anyone else in the Illinois game (2-for-12)
and was on the receiving end of some unhappy remarks from teammates.
