With a front row seat at the game, this is what I saw, up close. Three missed
shots at the very beginning of the game (down 8-2). Good defense, that
resulted in the other team taking a shot as time ran out (making most of them).
Missing too many good open looks. This team had no answer for Max or Hicks, for
that matter. I talked with some Illinois fans (there were many) and reminded
them what happens when your team takes a lot of threes, and misses most of them
(lose to St. Joe). This was a very good team, but IMHO I think they can be
beaten. This was like a home game for them. I do not believe in good loses, but
this could be close. It will get everyone going in the same direction. Dee
Brown was mouthy the whole game. The fans were classless too. With empty seats in
their section, they insisted on sitting in our little corner. I'll take a 16
seed and play them first, win or loose, let it happen. Play your best effort
and go on from there. Sorry about the long post, but I had to endure a 45
minute bus ride with 55 to 60 orange people. The only dig I could get in was, to
wonder outloud if their pep band was at the football bowl game?
