RE: Downey

Although I have not written off this year and think they will be a very good
team when all is said and done, it is fun think about the possibilities of
next year.  Next years team should be at least a top ten preseason (although
they probably will have a much tougher regular season), but here is my
projected starting line-up:

PG Jihad (this is a toss-up, and depends on how well JH improves in his
knowledge of the system and his defense).  
2G  Kirkland (he will be a senior and he creates mismatches with his size)
SF  White (senior, experience again)
PF  Bright (he has shown that he will be a regular, and should be able to
handle the position)
C   Hicks  (will be the team leader next year)  

I hesitate to put Herrera in as a starter because despite his size and
natural position, Huggs will always at least start a lineup that is a "sure
thing" and for all we know, AH could be the next Whaley or BJ Grove.  When
was the last time a freshman center started and made a significant
contribution on a Huggins team?  Unfortunately, next years team will
probably be smaller than this year with the loss of Max, unless we get
another recruit or Souley manages to step it up.
