I also thought the Bearcats played scared. Missed free throws and
airballs (four, I think) prove that. Huggins during the game often
told the guys to slow down because he cold see it too.
Another problem was the large deficit that happened so early. The guys
may have been trying to catch up too quickly when all that is needed
is one basket at a time.
Also there were fouls on their big men starters relatively early and
but the subs were good.
This was a cant lose game in that if we win, we achieve our goal and
if we lose - we were supposed to lose since they are #1. I'm
surprised we came out nervous.
Big respect to Illinois tho. Good bench and very good passing team.

We were tight. Too nervous. Doesn't bode well for postseason. One player

Two words: Shot selection.
One word (from Bill Walton): Hoooorrrible.
Kills us. We chuck up garbage and think we can just get the rebound
like we can against Longwood or Directional U. Does not happen against
quality opposition.
How many times did we take contested shots in the first ten seconds of
the shot clock? Kick it back out and find a better shot.
We held the Illini to a very low percentage (best against them this year
I believe), and did not capitalize because of the above.

4 minutes to go. Our offense is horrible tonight. Can we make it to
50?
Illinois is really good, but UC looks like to high school team that owns
the gym they're playing in.
