What do you want to know?  He is correct.  We get paid with a ton of sh*t. 
No money, but I have the best garden in the land.

As for the "funny" money, it does change hands.  It is very competitive all 
across the university with 5 or 6 straight years of budget cuts. and UCATS 
feels the crunch trying to come up with the money, just like all of the 
departments and divisions.
